Chapter 46. Cardboard

I walked aimlessly on the road, naked and utterly devoid of dignity due to the incident I had initially resisted but ultimately went through. I found a spot to sit and hugged myself. It was dark in this area. I could still see what was happening on the street not too far away, but no one passing by was likely aware of my presence here. I didn't know where I was... where my feet had taken me. All I knew was that I was far away. Far from the home I had come from. 

I didn't desire to venture into the light. Even though I was afraid of the darkness, I had no choice. I didn't want anyone to see me in this situation. I couldn't help but sob as the events that had just transpired replayed in my mind.

It was over. The one thing I had always feared had happened. He betrayed me. Roy, betrayed me to save himself.

He had said he would choose me over his wife. He promised to be with me if we were ever discovered. He promised he could live a normal life with me, and I fell
