"I can manage on my own in the house, Mr. Erick. We have household help there, and I promised not to do anything," I turned to him from looking out the window as we drove through the streets in his car.
"You made promises before when we dropped you off at the condo, but you still ended up doing things that could've cost you your life," he remarked.
"I just felt like I was bothering you, Mr. Erick. I know you must have a lot of work at the office," I replied, feeling a bit ashamed.
It was Ms. Hazel who suggested that I stay with her husband for a while because she had to go to the province for four days. She mentioned something about a hospital project related to providing free check-ups for women.
"Well, if it's your decision, it's fine if you want to go back to the office. But if you're up against Hazel, I suggest you keep quiet. I don't want to hear her nagging later," Mr. Erick said, chuckling.
