Chapter 81. Proposal

I woke up abruptly, my eyes slowly fluttering open. Carefully, I extricated myself from beneath Carl's arm, which extended from Amari all the way to me. He had slept in our room, and a quick glance at the clock revealed that it was five o'clock.

I rose from bed and adjusted the blanket for both of them. It appeared that Carl had unintentionally ended up here, still dressed in his suit and shoes. I shook my head slightly and proceeded to remove his shoes.

Afterward, I made my way to the bathroom to freshen up and returned downstairs.

I found myself staring at a glass of water in my hand for an extended moment before finally snapping out of it. I proceeded to reheat the leftover rice, which had barely diminished since neither Amari nor I had finished our portions.
