Chapter 143

Valeria's POV

I felt something hard on my head and suddenly a sharp pain shot through my head. I didn't even have time to think about it or make myself noticed. But who would find me out here? I am alone. In the middle of the woods. Kilometers away from the civilization I'm fleeing.

At that moment I regretted my decision and as I fell deeper and deeper, a thousand thoughts flashed into my head, but only one could hold. Alec's ice-blue eyes were the last thing I saw in my mind's eye. Then everything went dark. I lost consciousness as I continued to fall.

Alec's POV

My people and I have been looking for her for over 4 hours now. Even though she is human, she has kept us quite busy, but we were already able to pick up her trail, which we now followed. After I smelled her scent, I couldn't hold back any longer and rushed into pursuit.

She must have lost her strength by now because her smell was getting stronger.
