Chapter 154

Valeria's POV

I woke up today with a smile. Because I knew what was coming. Today was Friday and I am finally being released. Finally out of the clinical room, the bare walls, the smell of hygiene and disinfectants, and away from the doctors.

Do not get me wrong. I like what they're doing, but I still don't particularly like them. I know that they are important to the system and that without them I would probably be dead long ago from what I've heard, but I still could never imagine working here.

The smell of death hung in the air and the constant uncertainty of whether someone would make it or not would kill me inside. This is all too much excitement for me. I want more stability and to be able to prepare for the coming days. As I thought about all this, I hobbled around the room gathering my things.
