Chapter 173

Alec's POV

I was so busy with the pack all week that I didn't even see Val during the week. I wondered what she had been up to all day, but I couldn't think of much. I had told my guards that under no circumstances should she leave the house. After all, I didn't know how far her parents were searching and since I wanted to prevent her from running around while her family searched for her, my house was the safest place.

I can already imagine how she spent the days. Sleeping late, exercising, watching TV, eating, sleeping and so on. Of course, I would like to give her a task, especially since I might need some support, but as long as she isn't in on our secret, that will probably have to wait. Besides, she still wasn't ready to find out. We understood each other better now, or so it seemed to me, but I needed her complete trust.

You don't take it so lightly when a human suddenly becomes a wolf. I've had to watch too often how much it affected people.
