Zoey's POV

After Logan kicked Nikolay and Luka out of the room, we ended up lying on the bed in silence, as we often did, just enjoying each other's closeness.

With circular, practiced movements, Logan stroked my collarbone while I placed my head on his lap with my eyes closed.

"Did you mean that seriously, or did you just say it to avoid an embarrassing situation between Nikolay, Luka, you and me?" Logan suddenly asked out of nowhere and his hand remained on my shoulder.

I slowly lifted my head and turned to look at him. Logan looked at me with an expression I had never seen from him before. He exuded an innocence and an honesty that both frightened and delighted me.

He really meant it and you could see how important my answer was to him.
