"Come on, she'll like it," Jungso encouraged his daughter to get out of bed while holding a beautiful birthday cake. Lucy looked at him, along with the cake, and sighed.

"Mom doesn't deserve to celebrate her birthday in a hospital..." Lucy slumped her shoulders and expressed her disappointment.

Jungso lowered his shoulders and saddened his gaze. He was exhausted, but he still tried to make the two women in his life smile.

"This is how we can do it, princess," he spoke softly, still looking at her. "I promise that next year we'll have the most beautiful party, alright?"

Lucy didn't say anything, she simply nodded and got up completely. It was almost two in the afternoon, and she was still wearing her pajamas. She felt like a mess and hadn't seen her mother since the day she had been in the hospital.

"I'm going to take a shower," she announced, dragging herself to the bathroom
