“Carla! Carla! Save me! I’m on fire! My whole body is burning!” I shouted in my head, panicking as I looked down at my limbs, which were completely engulfed in flames.
“What are you doing?! What am I supposed to do in a situation like this?! It’s not me who controls your powers—it’s you!” Carla shouted back, her sharp tone making me wince in mental pain.
“Then who am I supposed to turn to for help?” I shot back.
“Didn’t that old lady just tell you to keep your emotions in check? Look closely! You might be covered in flames, but you aren’t actually feeling any pain, are you? Even your clothes aren’t burning, for god’s sake!” Carla remarked.
