Chapter 6

Cassia runs down after eating lunch. She was in the canteen and eating with her best friend; her attention should have been with her, but his mind was wandering everywhere. Cassia thought it wasn't her day today. Her car broke down on the way to the office, so she had to commute. Her boss pestered her again, and he wouldn't believe her when she told him that she was married. She had so much work to do with so little time until the deadline, and the lunch tasted bland.

But Cassia knew what happened today was not the reason for her absentmindedness. It was what happened last night that really affected her.

She finally met Thorn's boyfriend.

Cassia blinked countless times after hearing a finger snap in front of her. She frowned when she saw that it was Zehannah. "What?"

"What planet are you on? You've been dazed there for a while." That friend frowned at her.

Cassia sighed, then took a drink of water before answering
