Chapter 73. What About Her?

Jethro nervously knocked on his father’s study. He suddenly called him to come back home.

Jose’s voice was cold and stern, and he didn’t know what to expect. Jethro only sensed that this conversation would be about him breaking his engagement with Kathleen again.

Jethro had enough of them. He had already lost count of how many times his parents had scolded him for that decision.

But to be fair, their families didn’t know what they were going through, and they felt like he had just called it off on a whim.

Although his feelings for her had waned, he chose not to disclose the mess they created. He protected Kathleen’s image from avoiding losing any more respect they had left for each other.

“Come in.” Jose’s grounding beckoned.

Jethro took a deep breath before he entered the study.

His father’s stoic face welcomed him as the door opened. He was sitting behind his desk, skimming through piles of medical research.

Jose’s gaze panned up as
