Chapter 72. Why Do I Love You? (2)
Hadley caught Benedict at the dining table, drinking wine alone. She smiled and approached him. She dropped her suitcase on the chair and sat down in front of him.
“Overtime again?” he commented.
“Yeah, as usual,” she replied.
“Have you eaten dinner yet?” Benedict asked.
“Yes, I’m done,” she casually replied.
When their conversation was over, Benedict sipped from the wine glass and then let out a heavy sigh as if he had a problem.
“Is there something wrong with you? It’s unusual to see you drinking alone. Especially here at home. You don’t drink here,” Hadley noticed.
“It’s only a glass of wine. I’m just tired. Do you want a glass of it?” he then asked.
Hadley smiled and shook her head. “Thanks, but no. I want to take a rest now.” She stood up and went to the refrigerator; she poured water into her glass and drank it. Next, she went to the sink to put the glass down there. She pressed both hands on the edge of the kitchen sink while tu
