Chapter 108. It’s Getting Better

I kept close to the walls, my ears straining to pick up any sound that might indicate I’d been discovered. And suddenly, my eyes flicked on the guards patrolling in a group down the other side of the direction. I quickly hid beside where the broken titles were packed. I could hear their heavy footsteps so I waited until they passed before I let out a deep breath.

Once they were out of sight, I darted forward again. My heart pounding in my chest. I ran as silently as possible, my feet barely making a sound on the ground. The moment I reached the direction that once saw the guards earlier, I slowly tipped toed fastly to another direction.
