Chapter 43. The Hottest Gossip

Elara POV

I strode inside Queen Rebecca’s chamber. She was standing, facing the window in deep thought.

Her hands were clasped behind, above her waist line.

I could have waited until tomorrow morning, but I just couldn’t. I needed us to act faster; I wanted that witch to disappear back to wherever she came from.

Because of her, Ryder’s attention had drifted away from me.

More like I irritated him now.

The look on his face when he stared at me earlier was frightening. I hadn’t seen him this irritated and pissed off at me before. Yes, we might not be in the best relationship, but he had never looked at me that way.

I released a deep breath and walked further into the room, shutting the door behind me.

Queen Rebecca tensed. She sensed my presence, but remained oddly quiet.

I wondered what was going through her mind.

“Good evening, my queen,” I stopped a few steps away from where she stood and greeted her with a bow.
