It had been a few weeks since Sylvester had chosen me as his mate, and I could feel the tension rising within the pack. Some of the members were beginning to question his judgment and leadership abilities because of our relationship. It was like they thought he was putting me above the pack, and it was affecting their trust in him.

I knew Sylvester was doing everything he could to prove to the pack that he was still the same leader they had always known, but it wasn’t easy. It seemed like the more he tried to reassure them, the more they doubted him. I just wished there was something I could do to help him.
