Chapter 39. False Promises
Elsie's POV
My eyes stung as I made an attempt to open them, even the effort in moving my eyelids was exhausting. Eventually I focused on the light around me, squinting as the brightness from the sun burned into my vision.
I saw the silhouette of someone sitting beside me. Was it Theo? Oris? I would even welcome Kai at this point. Had they managed to find me and bring me back to the Summer Pack house?
My eyes began to adjust, and I just caught the features of the man sitting at my bedside. As he spoke to me, I felt my stomach turn with sickness, and bile rose into my throat.
