Chapter 61. Echo

Elsie's POV 

Training at night had become far too familiar for me. Back in the Autumn Pack we always met at sunrise, the crack of dawn to meet the trainer and get to work. That always felt too safe, I wanted to have a constant threat surrounding me so I would always be alert, in the darkness.

The more I thought about my training at the Autumn Pack, the less I remembered. Each day the memories of what I learnt faded away. All I was left with was the negative comments from Rory after each session, telling me I would never be strong enough to be a warrior.

But after my secret training sessions at the Summer Pack, doing it at night time felt far more exhilarating. The darkness enhanced my senses, which made me want to work harder and be aware of my surroundings as they were less visible.
