I had underestimated Rory it seemed. I felt myself drawing close to death as Rory pounded his fist into me, each strike worsening my vision as things became a blur, the darkness enveloping me. It didn't even hurt anymore, my entire body burned with so much pain, I didnt know which part of the pain to focus on.

Reaching out to my mates, I caught their words ever so low in my mind. I made an attempt to respond, but I could barely focus my thoughts.

"Hold on Elsie, my darling. We're coming to get you. Please be strong, I want you to be brave for me. I love you,"

Theo's message struck a chord with me, hearing such powerful affection from him, and knowing how he wanted me to fight back awoke something within me.
