Chapter 15. Interview

Freya’s POV

I froze the moment the email notification popped up on my phone.

My eyes stayed glued to the screen as my heart skipped a beat, my brain struggling to process the words staring back at me.

“Congratulations. You have been selected for an interview.”

For several seconds, I just stared at it, completely stunned.

That couldn’t be right.

It had barely been an hour since I submitted my credentials. There was no way they had already reviewed everything and responded this quickly.

“There’s no way…” I muttered under my breath.

My fingers tightened around the phone as I blinked slowly, convinced I must be imagining things. Maybe stress was finally getting to me.

Slowly, I closed my eyes, took a breath, and opened them again.

The email was still there.

My heart began racing faster. Is this really real?

Still not trusting my own eyes, I lifted my hand and pinched my arm hard.

“Ouch!”
