Uncle Chen dropped his jaw when he heard Johann’s command. My husband has always been nice to them but it was the first time he raised his voice to Uncle Chen.

Uncle Chen’s eyes wiggled at his voice and I felt quite sorry for him. But I think he knew my husband wasn’t directly angry at him.

He looked at Grandpa Jake and confirmed something, “Sir, what Johann said…”

The old man who was supposed to be celebrating his birthday happily went into an endless sigh. I wanted to hold him but since I was the star of the hour, I couldn’t comfort him, instead, I stayed seated.
