Kendra’s POV

The morning came, and I found an empty space on Johann’s side. Realizing he didn’t come home to me all night burdened my already heavy head.

I was still contemplating last night when I heard the knock with a bit of urgency in it.

“Lady Kendra, are you awake?” an old voice came within the walls.

“Lady Kendra, may I come in?” another call was made.

I tucked my sheet under because I wanted to stay in bed the whole day. Today will mark the end of our marriage, so I wanted to just be left alone before I talk to Grandpa.

But I didn’t escape Aunt Chen’s persistence. As she entered the room, she removed the sheet that was covering me.

I frowned when the light hit my eyes. So I immediately covered them with my hand.

“I am so sorry Lady Kendra, I didn’t mean to, but your grandpa is lookin
