Chapter 51. Mysterious Events

Emma’s POV

I sat down to eat, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over me. I was taking care of myself, preparing for the challenges ahead. I took a bite of my eggs, savoring the flavors, and smiled, feeling more energized and focused.

I walked with purpose towards the training grounds, my heart racing with anticipation. I was ready to face whatever challenges they have in store for me. As I rounded a corner, I heard the sound of footsteps behind me. I spun around, expecting to see one of them or perhaps a fellow trainee.

But before I could even process who it was, a hand clamped over my nose and mouth, and a pungent smell filled my senses. I tried to struggle, but my limbs felt heavy, and my vision blurred. I attempted to cry out, but the cloth muffled my voice.
