My unease grew, and my mind raced with conflicting emotions. I didn’t know what to make of my mother’s words, and I didn’t know how to respond. The lack of apology, the straightforwardness—it was all so… unexpected.
“You just want to heal me?” I repeated, my voice laced with skepticism. “No questions, no expectations? Just… heal me?”
