Chapter 39
Adham said, “No, no, come show me what you have.”
Rima said, “Adham, for my sake, leave her alone.”
Uncle Saeed said, “Well, I had one troublemaker, now there are two.”
Uncle Farouk said, “Rather, you now have fifteen troublemakers and one troublemaker.”
Saeed said, “Why so many people?”
Uncle Farouk said, “Wait and you will see his friends working with you like working machines, but they will not stop quarreling like roosters.”
“But we don’t have enough money for them,” Saeed said.
Uncle Farouk said, “They may be young in age, but they are men who keep the covenant, and their eldest is Adham, and if he says he will work today for free, he will do it.”
The young men sat in front of the warehouse, waiting for their employer, Uncle Mahmoud, and also waiting for their friends to gather with Rima and her sisters. As for Uncle Farouk, he, Uncle Saeed, and Uncle Ismail entered the warehouse, waiting for the rest of the young men.
