Chapter 49
I left him and ran to the car, put the bag in the front seat, and then headed to the kitchen, but one of the workers met me carrying a closed, transparent box containing juice and gave it to me. I returned to him while I was running, and he had sat behind the steering wheel, so he took it from me, then put it next to him, and then he drove off as if he was racing with the wind. I looked at him. It was eight o’clock, so I went back inside towards the corridor leading to my room. On the way, she called one of the workers and gave me a tray, and said:
“This is your breakfast, take it to your room.”
I took the tray from her hands, went to the room, and then placed the tray next to me on the bed. It contained an egg and different pieces of cheese with a piece of bread, a plate with jam, and another plate with cream.
I ate it quickly because I was hungry, but I did not feel full and I was embarrassed to ask for food once. Another one picked up the tray and took it back t
