Chapter 10. I Can’t Do That!

I was scared and didn’t know what to do. I wanted to be with my family, but I was also scared of Riccardo and what he would do to me if I didn’t stay with him.

I told Ezra, “I can’t do this. I can’t betray Riccardo. He’ll kill me if I do.”

Ezra replied, “I will protect you. I won’t let anything happen to you. I promise. Just come with me and I will make sure you are safe.”

I was conflicted. On one hand, I wanted to be with my family, but on the other hand, I feared Riccardo. In the end, I decided to take a chance and go with Ezra.

We left in the middle of the night and drove to a safe house. Ezra told me he would take care of me, and we would be safe there. He also told me he would make sure Riccardo never found us.

I was still scared, but I felt safer with Ezra. He took care of me and provided me with everything I needed.

But Ezra seemed to understand, and he stayed with me despite the contract. I was relieved and thankful for his understanding.<
