Chapter 12. I Still Want You

I was horrified and I refused to sign it. I said, “No, I won’t do this. Not only that, but I won’t go back with him.” Ezra said, “I understand. We won’t let him do this to you. We will find a way to get out of this”. He then took out a piece of paper and started writing something down.

After a few minutes, he handed me the paper. It was the contract, but with different terms. He said, “This is a new contract. It will protect you from Palermo and ensure your safety. Sign this, and you can go back home to your family.”

I looked at the contract and saw that it was a marriage contract between me and Ezra. I was shocked. He said, “This is the only way to protect you. I know it’s a lot to ask, but please trust me. I promise to take care of you and your family.”

I looked into his eyes and I saw that he was sincere. Furthermore, I knew that he was the only one who could protect me. So, I signed the contract and we got married.

We left Palermo and moved to a small tow
