Chapter 7

Faith’s POV

I turned around slowly as my eyes widened. I couldn’t believe what I heard from him. 

“H-huh? Why? I have an apartment, sir,” I said while starting to chew slowly again.

Martin didn’t answer; instead, he moved and took the cell phone from the center table, and handed it to me.

“Dial your boyfriend’s number. Tell him you’re breaking up with him.” He took some popcorn from the white bowl and gave it to me.

Boyfriend? Who’s my boyfriend? Does he mean Dexter?

A few moments passed before I looked at my cellphone. I didn’t know what to tell my friend or if I should really call him. I took a deep breath before starting to dial Dexter’s number. 

Later on, I could only hear a constant ringing. Martin looked at me as if watching what I was doing. After a while, my friend answered the call.
