Chapter 9
Faith’s POV
Martin and I ate at my place that afternoon. No one would want to speak. He didn’t say anything to me, and I didn’t want to talk either.
“Faith,” he called, but I only glanced at him for a moment. “Sell this unit of yours.”
I looked at him with raised eyebrows. “Why?”
“Just sell it.”
“I can’t.”
“Why? Is this too important to you?”
I wanted to be angry again. Why is it so easy for him to say such things? He doesn’t seem to care anymore. Does he want me to lose my house as well?
“Of course! Maybe you don’t know. I built this home with my blood and sweat. I put a lot of effort into it.” I was unable to stop myself. My voice raised a bit, which obviously surprised him.
“And so? My unit is even bigger.” He looked around the entire unit.
“You’re so arrogant!” I hurriedly walked to the bathroom and immediately locked the door. When I was with Martin, I felt like I couldn’t breathe.
