Chapter 6
Faith’s POV
Dexter approached the sofa I was sitting on and rubbed my back. “Everything will be okay, girl. Take a break here. You’re always welcome to my house, okay? Feel at home.”
I smiled at him. Dexter had been with me during the times when I broke up with Martin. I had nothing then — no money, no family, and very few friends. Only Dexter supported me during the times I was in the hospital and staying in an orphanage.

The next day, I woke up early. I flinched when I saw myself in the full-size mirror. Messy hair and the smell of sweat. Puffy eyes.
“Oh, you’re awake.”
“I’m going home, Dexter. Thank you for letting me stay here,” I said while combing my hair.
“No worries. You know that my palace is open for you anytime, girl.”
I smiled when I heard that and hugged him afterward.
