Chapter 35. I Will Never Be Like Her

Cristine's POV

"Cristine, let's talk," he said, standing up from the bed.

I was stunned. His stare was making my knees weak, but when the scenario that I'd seen at his condo flashed in my head, I quickly regained my composure.

I averted my gaze.

"Why are you here?" I turned around to close the door. I took that chance to inhale and exhale before I faced him again.

"I should be the one asking you that question. Why are you here?" His cold voice envelopes me.

My mouth opened, but I couldn't say a word. I just laughed softly and leaned behind the door. I should keep myself like this. Focus, Cristine! You've seen him with a woman earlier!

"I'm here for a vacation. You don't own the city, so I can go here whenever I want."

I saw how his eyes narrowed because of my answer. Maybe he didn't expect me to say that. After a while, he smirked.

"Where did you get the confidence to talk to me like that traitor?" He stood up and emphasized the
