"What are we going to do, Carter? We can't afford for them to dig any deeper," she said, her voice filled with anxiety.

"I won't let anything happen to you, Carla. I've been thinking about a solution, and I might have found one." I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts. 

"What is it?" Her eyes lit up with hope.

"I paid a visit to the Secret Police Service," I began, explaining my meeting with Agent Reynolds. "He assured me that they would take care of the situation, but he couldn't provide me with specific details."
