She was speechless but Carter pretended not to see her reaction to what she said. 

"I hit her with a rod, then gave her three hard punches," she muttered. My lips formed an O, I was speechless, just as my sister, then shook my head repeatedly, no wonder my head is so heavy even up till now. On my right side, I feel it being swollen.
