Chapter 39. Desperate Need

My throat burned with the urge to speak, ask questions I was dying to ask but I kept mute. I didn’t understand his body language or his expression for taking me far away from London. Not that I was complaining.
The flight here was quiet. Scott was acting like a caregiver to a fragile human, like I was some frail old lady but he seemed distant, barely looking at me for more than a few seconds.
He was…well, unreadable. That is all I can think of as a description.
The view of the beach was calming. I spent a few minutes on the balcony, loving the feel of the soft breeze on my skin and in my hair. The food was amazing, though I could hardly understand the people here.
We were like strangers sharing the same house. While Scott still checked up on me, he hardly said a word. I wanted more. I wanted that side of Scott that I had come to know and love. The side that enjoyed my company and couldn’t get his hands off me.
