Chapter 67. The Plan

“I will marry you.” These words kept replaying in my head. It had to be a joke. She was definitely pranking me or something.

I thought so until she came over to my side of the table with a beautiful infectious smile on her face, and handed me the ring. There was a god-damned ring! I ordered a necklace.

I slid the ring on her finger. Everything seemed unreal, like a funny weird dream. It was weird because I hadn’t planned to propose but it was perfect because she loved it and suddenly I loved the idea of being her fiancé.

“Isn’t there a necklace?”

I don’t know why I asked but I asked anyway.

Turns out, there was a necklace as well, hidden underneath the ring.

After engagement comes marriage, right? A secret marriage perhaps? How do I deal with this?

I cannot keep our relationship a secret forever, I can’t possibly take away her joy by telling her the ring and proposal thing was all a lie. How do I ask for her father’s bless
