Chapter 68. Moment of Silence

I should learn to keep my mouth shut a bit more. They say, mock something and it happens to you. I’m not sure that’s how it’s said.
“Exaggerated, huh?” Scott’s mocking voice intensified my shame. “I don’t mind the exaggerated romance, love.”
My cheeks were probably as red as a tomato. Pulling away, I opened my mouth to say something—anything to change the topic.
“You—” I didn’t have the luxury of time to complete the sentence when the doorbell rang. A good thing though. In truth, I did not know what to say.
“They are here, Scott.”
He raised a brow in question. His confusion reminded me that I had actually forgotten about telling him of their arrival.
“Sebastian and…” What do I call her, Camila? “And my mom.”
“What are they doing here?” He paused, took a deep breath and continued in a calm voice, “I did not invite them.”
“I did.”
“Why?”
What does he mean, why? “To go over the plan.” Isn’t that obvious?
