Chapter 32. Settling Into the New

Jake’s POV

I was so excited about having Milan and Ava with me here at the pack. I felt that with her and my daughter by my side, I would be able to lift the curse that was placed upon me by the Moon Goddess.

After I left her room, I rushed into my room to prepare for the welcome party. As I was about to rush to have a shower, a knock on my door and Maxwell’s sudden entrance startled me.

“Maxwell! What is it?” I asked, clutching my chest to calm my racing heart.

Maxwell smiled. “Nothing to worry about, Alpha. It’s just a quick message from the betas. They are set and are waiting for you, Miss Milan, and your daughter Ava to arrive.

So you should come down as soon as possible, Alpha.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah… I heard you. Now can you leave my room so that I can prepare?” I waved my hand for him to leave as his presence was a bother.

Maxwell turned to leave, but suddenly stopped and then turned back to look at me.

“What is it, Maxwell?”
