Chapter 40. The Unwelcome Guest

Jake’s POV

I had received information earlier that Scott Lucas was coming over to our pack and I wondered why he wanted to see me.

When he came, we had already chased away the rogues who were lurking around our territory.

Maxwell walked up to me to inform me of Alpha Scott’s presence. “Alpha, we have information that Alpha Scott is here to see you.”

My brow furrowed as I wondered why he was there. “What is he doing here?”

Maxwell shook his head. “I don’t know, Alpha, but I think you will know once you see him.”

I sighed and then waved my hand to let him into the pack to meet me in my office.

“What about the people that were kept in the safety room? Are they safe?” My face filled with worry.

Maxwell nodded “Yes Alpha. They are safe and sound. I think Miss Milan is on her way to her room.”

When I heard her name, my wolf howled and told me, “Run! Go and find your mate and ensure she’s alright.”
