Chapter 46. The Feelings Left Unspoken

Milan’s POV

Alpha Scott stared at me, his jaw clenched tight. He opened his mouth, as if to speak, but then closed it again. Finally, he turned towards the door.

“I understand,” he said, his voice tight with emotion. “I’ll leave, but I won’t give up on us. I’ll prove to you that I can be trusted.”

He walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. I sighed, feeling a mixture of relief and sadness. I was glad that he’d finally left, but I felt a pang of regret that things had come to this.

Alpha Jake walked over to me and put his arm around my shoulders. “I’m sorry you had to go through that,” he said, his voice gentle. “You’re so strong to stand up to him like that. I’m proud of you.”

I leaned into his embrace, feeling a little bit of the tension leave my body. “Thanks, Alpha Jake,” I said, my voice a little hoarse. “I appreciate that.”
