Chapter 43. The Confrontation

Milan’s POV

After I left Alpha Jake and Scott Lucas who I heard had become the Alpha of my former pack. I went to check up on my daughter Ava who was also searching for me.

When I saw her, I sighed deeply as I was worried sick about her. “Ava dear, are you alright?”

Ava rushed and hugged me deeply. “I’m alright Mom, I was just scared.”

I held her close, relief washing over me. “I’m glad you’re alright,” I said. “I was worried about you. What happened?”

Ava pulled back, her face serious. “Well, we were in class when we got the information that the pack was under attack and that we were ordered by the Alpha to take cover in the nearest shelter.

So I asked the teacher about you, and she informed me that I shouldn’t worry, Alpha Jake was going to protect you at all costs, and that I needed to take shelter first.”

I sighed again and hugged her. “I’m so glad you’re alright. I was so worried.”

“I’m okay, Mom,” Ava said, her voice sooth
