Chapter 47. What Was I Going to Do?

Jake’s POV

After I returned to my office and sat down on my chair thinking about what to do to protect Milan since I realized that Alpha Scott wasn’t ready to let her go so she could be happy in this pack.

I stood up and paced back and forth thinking, what do I do and how do I settle this? I needed Milan to help me break the curse, but also I needed her because I was already falling in love with her and wanted her to be my Luna.

I know she has been hurt so much from her previous pack and her mate and I don’t want to rush her... but I also can’t lose her to another pack. I need to find a way to convince her that this is where she belongs, and this is where she will be happy and safe.

But how do I convince her when she has every reason not to trust me? I have to find a way to gain her trust, to show her that I am different from the others. That I am someone she can rely on. But how?
