Chapter 44. What’s Best for the Pack

Milan’s POV

I looked confused and wondered why she made such a nasty remark about me.

“Talia, what’s going on?” I asked, trying to keep my voice calm. “Why are you saying such things about me? I haven’t done anything wrong.”

“You’re a threat to this pack!” she yelled, her eyes flashing with anger. “You’re dangerous and I don’t trust you!”

I stood there, stunned by her words. I had no idea where this was coming from.

“Talia, please, you must be mistaken. I would never do anything to harm this pack.”

“I don’t know that, since I don’t know you!” she shouted, anger evident in her voice.

“Because of you, Alpha Jake is in his office trying to fight for you and trying to also prevent a war between our pack and the Night Shade Pack’s Alpha.”

When she said that, I wondered what she meant by trying to prevent a war. “Wait a minute, what are you talking about?”

She walked up to me and began poking me on my shoulder. “Well, the Night
