Chapter 59. The Rejection

Third Person’s POV

Scott’ heart sank as he realized that he had a lot of work to do to earn Milan’s trust again. “I understand that you’re skeptical,” he said, choosing his words carefully. “But I’m not here because of Alpha Jake. I’m here because I made a mistake and I want to make it right. I know I can’t change the past, but I can try to change the future.”

Milan studied his face, her expression unreadable. “So what do you propose?” she asked, her voice neutral. “What is it you want from me?”

Scott took a deep breath and decided to be completely honest. “I want to earn your forgiveness,” he said, his voice trembling slightly. “I want to earn your trust back. And I want to be there for you and your child if you’ll allow me to be.”
