Jake’s POV
Talia’s face fell, and she looked like she was about to cry. “I’m sorry, Alpha. But I just hate the way you look at her and treat her. It made me want to ship her back to Alpha Scott.”
“Enough!” I yelled, my tone angry.
Talia shook in fear. She knew that it was rare for me to raise my voice like that to anyone in the pack except I was really angry by their action.
I knew that a lot of my pack members who were passing by would be shocked by my voice. They would be wondering who could have angered their alpha. But I couldn’t care less.
“You are being selfish, Talia,” I said, my voice low and firm. “You’re letting your feelings get in the way of what’s best for Milan. I’m trying to help her, and you’re making it harder for me. That’s not right.”
She looked down at the ground, her face still wet with tears. “So my feelings don’t matter huh? All you care about is that witch!”
