Chapter 30. Far Darker and More Sinister

Mr. Spencer simply lifted his hand in the air in a fist. It was a sign to halt.

Nevertheless, lord knows, he had no choice but to surely be perfect with Ms. Thompson moving forward. His actions would have to speak loudly for him to the one watching.

He wondered, 'Who was she to him?'

Mr. Spencer glanced around again nervously, as he already knew without knowing that the watcher was close by.

He'd heard too many tales of this man being in different places at once, which was more reason for him to behave and deal with Ms. Adeline Thompson fairly.

And judging from what his man told him, it was worse than he thought...

This young miss would be a formidable ally. One to keep happy should she ever were to mention him, he would be mentioned in an excellent light to whoever is watching over her, Mr. Spencer thought.

But what was troubling to him was that from what his man said, it was like she did not even know, as she ran away like a scared kitten.
