Chapter 21. A Mother’s Fury
CYRUS
“You don’t seem happy to see me, Mardurk. Are you not surprised, at least?” Kraga muses, glaring around and filling the space with a devilish aura. From my perspective, I can tell that no one wants him here, and he knows it but chooses not to give a shit.
“Nothing surprises me these days, Kraga,” Mardurk responds platonically, with a face void of expression. “I just wasn’t expecting you so swiftly.”
“Too bad. Dragons fly. You do know that, don’t you?” Kraga giggles, grabbing an apple from a table beside and biting off a large chunk. He paces around majestically for a while, chewing like a crazed jackal and reveling in the tension he brought with him.
“State your business, Kraga.” Marduk slowly takes his seat, seemingly unwilling to listen to more pretentious pleasantries. He is followed by the entire court.
“I heard…” Kraga finally lets out with a mouth full, his simple statement intensifying the ambiance in the hall. Looking around, it is obvious
