Chapter 27. The Greater Evil

In the midst of the morning gloom, his fiery eyes glow like neon lights, his face enshrouded in his hood as the last time I saw him. Knowing he is here to protect me emboldens me, granting me temporary relief from fear.
“Who the hell are you, and what is your concern here?” the Anunaki Lord Commander hollers, stretching his neck and narrowing his eyes as his attention is shifted from me. As I expected, the ominous figure remains silent as clouds of haze dance calmly around him. The distant sound of chirping birds forming a backdrop for the moment.
The Lord commander begins to amble toward him slowly, pointing his blade at him in reckless bravery. Knowing what brutal fate awaits him, pity tugs my heart, and I cry out.
“Please, don’t do that! Do not point a blade at him. That’s disrespectful…” Before I can even finish talking, my father somehow manages to grab the Lord Commander’s neck, choke-slamming him to the hard ground.
