“Jack, what’s the update?” I asked, my voice edged with anticipation. 

“Yeah, um, Chris, I’ve got something big,” Jack’s voice crackled through the speaker. “I have managed to track down your father’s location. Right now, he’s at an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of a town out of the city.” 

A surge of adrenaline coursed through me at Jack’s words. Finally, we had a lead. “That’s great news, Jack. But in your professional opinion, do you think that’s where he might be holding my wife hostage?”
