Chapter 46. Our Banquet, Our Move

Emily’s Pov

I observe Nina's pretense in my father's arms with disgust and irritation. I follow Ryan's exit and hasten my steps to catch up with him.

"Ryan, wait," I call out to him, already outside the house. The young omega slows down his pace until I reach him, and we both continue walking, albeit more slowly.

"I'm sorry, Miss Emily. I never meant to hurt Nina, and..." Ryan apologizes, and I interrupt him with my hand.

"Ryan, don't worry. I just want to understand your side of the story," I inform the omega firmly. The boy furrows his brow, almost causing his eyebrows to meet.

"There's not much to say, Miss Emily. I really don't know how I could have done that. I was with Nina, having fun, celebrating. We had some drinks, and then it happened... unfortunately," Ryan explains with shame, his body gesturing with embarrassment, and I listen attentively.
