Chapter 56. A Heart's Torment

Emily’s POV

The news still portrays Benson as a great villain. Old accusations resurface to weigh even more heavily on the massacre video. There are even accusations of things I didn't even know had happened to Benson when he became king two years ago.

Jimmy Doorson has instilled chaos and horror within the palace. He's increased the number of patrols in the capital, claiming that Benson still being at large is a danger to civilians and that he will protect them.

All of us from the Blue Bay Pack had to be taken for interrogation led by Jimmy. He circled our members and subtly threatened them.

I return to bed and try to fall asleep again, but it takes a while, and I find myself tossing and turning on the mattress. Where is Benson? What happened to him? Did Jimmy do something to Benson? So many questions and no answers. My only hope is to think that Benson is at least still alive; I still feel our connection through the bond of companionship. Accordin
